CARING COMMUNITY:  Andrew Avenue School will be partnering with other schools in Naugatuck and the Naugatuck Partnership for Children to collect basic necessities for some of our needy families.

In JANUARY, we are collecting TOOTHBRUSHES

In February, we will be collecting toothpaste.

In March, we will be collecting bar soap.  Please send any donations in with your child.  There will be a collection box in the office.  Thank you!

Here is the letter from Jill Mahoney:

Dear Partners in Education,

Naugatuck Partnership for Children formerly Naugatuck Discovery in collaboration with NEON kids is hosting our first Caring Community basic needs drive. As we understand the struggles our families have to feed and clothe our students, we must also realize the challenges for our most basic needs. With this in mind, Naugatuck Partnership for Children is asking for your help.

Beginning in January until March 2016, I am looking for your school to help collect basic needs items as per the schedule attached. All items will be made into 300 basic needs bags that will be distributed to Naugatuck families during April vacation. Once all items are collected, we will be working with youth in the community to prepare these bags for distribution the weekend before April vacation. Any items in excess of our 300 goal will be stored for distribution with our social service agencies and the beginning of our towns basic needs closet.

I thank you in advance as we support our community together. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me .

Fondly,

Jill Mahoney

Director
