PTO NEWS: Our next PTO meeting is Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Please join us!
Those interested in holding a board position for the next school year (2017-2018) need to submit their interest (name and the position for which they would like to be considered) over the next few weeks. They can submit this info via email:
We will be voting on positions at the next PTO meeting in May. Nominees should plan to attend.
The Scholastic Book Fair will be visiting Andrew Avenue School next week! Information on your child’s shopping date has been sent home. Volunteers are always needed to help our shoppers, please contact email@example.com if you can help. If you have any questions, call the office.
BOOK BINGO to coincide with our Book Fair will be held Thursday evening, April 27th from 6-7:30 pm. Information was sent home on Thursday.

LIBRARY BOOK CHECK OUT is over for the year. All books must be returned by Wednesday, May 17th or students will be charged for them.
SPRING CONCERT NEWS: Our spring concert will take place on Thursday, May 18th at Naugatuck High School in the auditorium. The Grades K, 1 and 2 Concert will start at 6 PM and students should arrive by 5:50. The Grades 3 and 4 concert will start at 7 PM and those students should arrive by 6:50. Concert attire is nice spring clothes. 3rd and 4th graders must bring their recorders. The concert is free.
ART SHOW: Student artwork will be displayed the evening of our concert in the lobby of the auditorium. Mrs. Polkowski will send more information home about that as it gets closer.
FIELD DAY: Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st, with a rain date of Thursday, June 1st this year. Information will be going home soon - parent volunteers will be needed to make our day a success!
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL: The Board of Education has set the last day of school as Wednesday, June 14th.
CALLING ALL OLD SNEAKERS! The Andrew Avenue PTO is collecting used athletic shoes to be donated/recycled. Any size/type of sneaker is welcome. They can be sent into school with your child or left in the bin in the main office. The PTO will receive $0.40 per pound of sneakers! This is an ongoing fundraiser, and we will be collecting until the end of this school year.
SCHOOL STORE: Our school store is open on Wednesday mornings from 8:40 to 8:55 am. Items are from $.25 to $2.00 and include novelty pens, pencils and erasers, keychains, etc. Students who have breakfast at school must do that first, then come to the store. Volunteers are needed to help run it, please contact Marilyn O’Donnell at firstname.lastname@example.org
LOST AND FOUND: Please check our lost and found for all those winter items. ALL ITEMS ARE DONATED TO GOODWILL IN JUNE IF NOT CLAIMED!.
