Andrew Ave PTG Minutes - Monday Dec 3, 2012

 

Called to order 6:30

-October's minutes were accepted as viewed on email.  All in favor

-Principal's reports - Principals are getting word out about Brigitte Crispino's retirement.  Noting that will be important to fill her position with two people as all new educational laws and curriculums will be put into place over the next few years. 

-Last literacy night at Western had low attendance.  Encourage people to come out for our next one at Andrew Ave on Feb 5th

-School cart - will send out separate notice for additional volunteers

-Turkey Trot - big success, looking to having other fundraising activities of this nature in the future.

-PJ for Soldiers this Friday Dec 7th.  $1 donation.  PTG will match what the school brings in.

-Winter Festival - ready to go for Friday Dec 7th

-Winter Fundraisers:  Uncle Jerry T-shirts in Feb, Yankee Candle & mixed bags in March

-Events:  Friday Feb 8th Valentines Dance, possible Souper bowl (March Madness) Mr. Gruber will check with teachers if they are interested.  Chuckie Cheese night??  More details to follow.

-Field Trips:  Waiting to hear from 3rd grade for field trips.  All other grades know their destinations.

-Assemblies:  Nov. assembly was great teachers & students enjoyed it.  Topic of the Shakesperion Theater was brought up again.  Need to discuss with teachers.

-Thank yous:  wonderful thank you note from staff will be placed on the PTG board next week.

-PTG mailbox:  looking for another place for boxtops and labels.  Will discuss with Mary.

-Staff appreciation:  PTG will donate to staff holiday party as a Thank you!

-Next meeting scheduled for Jan. 7th (Jen Stone will not be there)
